Each year, new smartphones are introduced to the market, with new features and technologies. For most fans, this is the most glorious time of the year as they discover the technologies they just hear about. Fans of the biggest brands of phones are waiting for the hot year to pass on the latest brands. However, 2017 was different; it was the year when this cycle seemed to reach a plateau, with many innovations in decline and phones looking too identical. This stall is not good for the phone companies, but for the consumer it can be a blessing in disguise clothes. The average consumer may now predict what to expect with a high probability of accuracy. Here are some things to expect from new phones in 2018:
Face recognition
Made popular by Apple in 2017, facial recognition should be a key feature of most phones in 2018. Businesses have already begun introducing it, with One Plus deploying its base version in the 5T. After Samsung's face recognition has been widely criticized in the S8, it's likely that the new phone's face recognition will be much safer and smoother. LG and Google should also follow along with their new 2018 phones as they launch.
Fingerprint scanners
Fingerprint scanners are not really new, but there was little consensus on their location. Even though Apple is expected to release its fingerprint reader in 2018, it is far from obsolete. Generally, companies are following the example of Apple, but with the fingerprint reader, more and more companies need to introduce the integrated fingerprint reader, especially to unlock their screens. Many brands, especially those with cost-effective phones, publish devices with fingerprint scanners on the back. The indications are that there will be fewer fingerprint scanners in 2018.
Two cameras
They were once one of the most expensive phones in the world, but the dual cameras seem to be expanding to some of the most economical phones. Google has incorporated this technology into Pixel 2 and Pixel XL and most companies seem to be following suit. Companies realized that the integration of two lenses into their cameras resulted in better images, especially in poor light. Phones like the One Plus 5T and the Huawei Honor 7X have them, and manufacturers are expected to have the dual camera option in their more impressive phones.
View full screen
This is another feature that is almost exclusively reserved for expensive phones. Once again, Apple and Samsung, the leading manufacturers of mobile phones in the world, are leading the way in this area. The new phones get rid of the home button, so the edges around the screens of the smartphone stay to a minimum. The way innovations work is that as customers see and utilize these new features, they begin to release phones with these features. Full-screen displays will undoubtedly be one of the things that will consume demand in 2018.
